This is an empowering visual! Having such an image in the classroom is powerful for both teachers and students. For teachers, this may look like a daily reminder: I am educating future professionals and business owners and keep this mindset even when the days are cloudy. The image can also help keep educators from giving up on students, as some do - especially those who need help with behavior. Students can have their career goals on the poster, which motivates them daily as a guide to let them know they are learning today for their role in society tomorrow. It may focus them on taking their education seriously or on trying harder. Also, it can be used as a classroom management tool - a daily reminder. The teacher may say, “Hey, class, remember our poster and what we are all working for!” Here the teacher also reiterates her role in molding them for their future! The teacher may also ask them to remember what they want their future to look like, and the teacher may end with: now, let’s focus and build the future; we want one subject at a time, etc. It can also be used as a behavioral tool to redirect the behavior by pointing to the poster and reminding students of their goal in life - and may ask, for example: “If I went to the doctor and said I am not ready as yet, would the doctor throw a fit and role on the floor, etc.” #education #teacher #learning #management #students #educators #teachers #future #mindset #society #businessowners #like #help #career

It's time to crowd source a question for my Linked In friends...I'll be giving a high school commencement speech next week. I've done this a few times and it's always exciting to speak to students at this point in their life (and a little sad to reflect on how long ago that was for me!). I'd like your help!Could you please respond with an answer to one or all of three questions:1) What's the best piece of advice you got as you were leaving high school?2) What's the worst advice you got that turned out to just not be true or helpful?3) What do you WISH someone told you at that point in your life?
